Elissa is Getting Married!!!

Elissa is getting married to Trevor Bruce in 24 days and I am so happy and excited for both of them!  The best part about this marriage is that it is my two close friends.  Being one of Elissa's bride's maid, Jess (another bride's maid) and I threw Elissa a bridal shower yesterday.  Everything turned out so well, and it was such a fun afternoon!

{special thanks to Trevor Ellsworth, who helped me decorate}

 Probably the coolest thing i have ever seen! The skirt is a cake! It's a special cake pan that Jess had and there are tons of other things you can do with this pan, so stinking cool! But adorable for our Bridal Shower.

One of our games that we played were questions like "who made the first move?" and "who will take out the trash?"  For whoever they thought would do it Elissa, being the crown, and Trevor, being the mustache, they would hold up their sign to whoever they thought was the answer to that question.  It was such a cute idea and so funny!

I can't wait for the actual big day! It will be so much fun!
I love you, Elissa!

22

My birthday was this past weekend. I am 22...weird.
I had a great birthday, nothing too crazy, but still fun!
Thursday, started off like any other Thursday: worked on a group project, went to class, etc. That night I ended up inviting who ever and anyone to Yogurtland, which was really fun because a lot of old friends that i haven't seen for awhile came.  Yogurtland was perfect because people came, said hi, got yogurt, and kinda did their own thing, which was great because it wasn't a big deal, and i don't like to make myself a big deal.

Friday night was my favorite!  A big group of my friends and i went up to Salt Lake for the night, and we had a blast! First, we went to The Pie, which is an amazing pizza place right next to the U.  It was my first time and i definitely want to go again! Delicious!
{Janessa, me, Ethan, Trevor, Tim, Courtney, Jared, Jared, Danica, & Mal}

Next, we went to a dueling piano bar, Keys on Maine, which was really entertaining.  None of us had been to a piano bar before, so we all just went in not really knowing what to expect.  Well, it was definitely an interesting experience, one that you could not have in Provo.  Many of my friends were kind of shocked at the crudeness of it all, but to be completely honest, i kind of expected it, i mean we were at a bar?! Anyways, so how it all worked was that there were two piano's on stage and the bar was divided into two sides.  You could request songs, but you had to pay money for the song.  However much money was there in comparison to other songs was how they would figure out which songs to play, the more money on a song, the more likely they would play it.  We didn't to hear any of our requests, but there were still some good songs that we were requested.  Overall, a fun night!

The next day, i woke up really early, and went to DanceSport, which is a dance competition that BYU puts on each semester.  Didn't win for the cha-cha, but still had a great time.  Loved my cute little freshman partner.  Loved the cha-cha.  Loved seeing our number pop up on the screen for qualifying each heat.  Loved the performing butterflies that you get in your stomach.
Social Dance 280...i think yes!

Happy-Halloween-Happenings

Happy Birthday to Danica! (very belated)
It was a great birthday celebration for her, so much fun! We went to Guru's and then went to the Haunted Forest which was terrifying, but a blast! Afterwards, we had more friends come over to our apt and had birthday pumpkin pie :)
{us at Guru's}

Happy Halloween!
Well, i didn't do anything actually on Halloween day but we did party it up the weekend before...well correction, the Friday before.  We had a ward dance party activity that was held in our parking garage.  Very well decorated, but unfortunately, not many people decided to come, but we still danced our little hearts out!
{me (Princess from Enchanted), Danica (tourist), Mal (bee), Courtney (ladybug)}

The next day while everyone was Halloween partying in Provo, i went on a date in Salt Lake City where we went and saw the Joseph Smith: The Restoration movie, which was just recently redone.  It still had some of the same shots but it had a different spin on it, being from the perspective of Lucy Mack Smith.  Afterwards, we had dinner on the rooftop of the Joseph Smith Building, it was really fun!

Conference Weekend

I Love Conference.
Lets face it, its basically a good excuse to be lazy and hang out in Pj's all day, while being spiritually uplifted, nothing better, right?!
Well, Saturday was just that. After conference, Elissa, and i threw a Bridal Shower for our best friend/my roommate, Anna. Elissa is definitely her mother's daughter because she came in with the cutest crafty decorations, while i provided the desserts and a game.  The only bummer is that Anna is getting married (obviously) which means she is not going to be my roommate anymore, and, seriously, i am so sad! She has been such a great roommate, who i can always come home to and know that i can just spill my guts to and be able to get advise about what to do or just be able to have a good laugh with...but we will always have our friendship (cheesy, i know, haha)!

{We kept it simple & did just a brownie bar}

Sunday, Danica and i were able to get conference tickets for the afternoon session from our Bishop. And what made it even better is that Janessa decided to come up with us in hopes to just get a ticket there.  So when we got to the conference center, we were saying goodbye and good luck to Janessa with getting a ticket (because there were SO many people outside too asking for a ticket) and there was a cute couple next to us that apparently saw us saying bye to her and the couple had only one ticket, so they just gave it to her! I was so glad that Janessa was able to go in too! After conference, Janessa, Danica, and i went to my Grandma's house and was able to have Sunday dinner with her and Roy, and it was just so good to have a home cooked meal and have some good family time. Afterwards, we listened as my Grandma told us how she met my Grandpa. It was so adorable and it made me so grateful for my family. Overall, it was a great day full of uplifting messages, laughter, and overfilled bellies.

Mixed Emotions

Well here i am on Thursday night all by myself at home...and i choose this?
Yep, a big thank you to jobs at J Crew and Farrell's, sunny weather, family, and the beach, i choose this.
Well let me back up, to explain the whole title of this post "Mixed Emotions" with two different thoughts
Thought #1:
Britten graduated!
p.s. Congrats! But i seriously can NOT believe it! Well i can, she worked hard, but i can't believe that it was only 4 years ago they were graduating and i was doing this...
Yeah, embarrassing picture, i know, but thats what us girls do.
Anyways, with that, i can't believe that it was only 3 years ago i was graduating from Capo
And on top of that, i will once again be graduating from BYU in one year!  I feel like i just graduated from Capo last year, maybe?!  Where does time go?

Thought #2:
I am all ALONE!
Where did all my friends go? Ohh wait they are all back in Provo!
Seriously, they need to make a BYUCA.  Because i just cant handle snow and i want my friends back.
i stinking miss...
 The Ward Crew
My Jeru Crew (side note: also can't even handle that this ended a year ago!?!)
This girl...(Thursday mornings wont be the same)
The Capo Crew
 But most of all my roomies.
No one warned me this was going to happen, dang it!
The End.

Open Airways

This semester i volunteered for Open Airways School Program.  Every Friday afternoon, my friend, DaLynn, and i would go to an elementary school in Provo and teach kids that already have asthma, how to deal with it.  It is a great program, and i learned a lot, not only about asthma but about my thoughts about my future career.  I learned that i could never be a teacher, i don't like having to call students out and disciplining them, especially when i don't know them that well.  It did reaffirm my certainty that i love kids, they are so fun to work with and have so much energy.  They also never cease to amaze me on how much they know, and how they soak in so much information.
Here is our little class :) (we usually had a few more students, but they were a no show?!)
